Garden City, NY, August 28, 2026 – In the weeks surrounding the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, Paws of War, in partnership with the Cradle of Aviation Museum, will bring Brothers After War to Long Island on Sat., Sept. 19, 2026. The special screening and interactive seminar is offered for veterans, active-duty military, first responders, 9/11 survivors and families, and all those whose lives were changed by that day. The Gary Sinise Foundation supports the program.

 Directed by Jake Rademacher and executive produced by Gary Sinise and Phil Gurin, Brothers After War follows Rademacher as he reconnects with his brothers and the Soldiers and Marines, he embedded with during the Iraq War. Interweaving footage from the war with their lives today, the film follows their journeys from warfighter to veteran, exploring identity, trauma, family, and the search for purpose after service. Those same questions of loss, service, and coming home remain urgent on Long Island 25 years after 9/11, when so many residents, first responders, service members, and families were forever changed.

Following the screening, participants will take part in the Brothers After War seminar. Using the film as a starting point, the interactive program incorporates guided reflection, journaling, and facilitated discussion, giving veterans, first responders, 9/11 families, and others affected by that day an opportunity to reflect on their own experiences, share their stories, and connect with others. Each participant will receive a complimentary journal to use during the seminar and take home.
