Garden City, NY – April 28, 2026

The Cradle of Aviation Museum has been recognized as the recipient of the Claire Friedlander Family Foundation Arts & Culture Award at the Long Island Imagine Awards.

Now in its 14th year, the awards recognize nonprofit organizations across the region for their impact and leadership.

The Museum was recognized alongside fellow finalists in the Arts & Culture category, including Long Island Children's Museum, Long Island Arts Alliance, and Usdan Summer Camp for the Arts—organizations expanding access to learning and cultural experiences for Long Island communities.

Located in Garden City, the Cradle of Aviation Museum preserves Long Island’s contributions to aviation and space exploration while advancing science education and innovation.

Each year, more than 350,000 visitors, including over 70,000 students, participate in the Museum’s programs and exhibitions.

As a nonprofit, the Museum raises its own funds to support its education and preservation programs.

This recognition reflects the Museum’s ongoing work in education, preservation, and community engagement.
