  • Help install, move, repair, or maintain non-collection exhibit components, barriers, signage, and displays under staff direction.

  • Assist with room setups, breakdowns, and movement of tables, chairs, equipment, and materials for Museum programs and special events.

  • Help with seasonal projects, facility improvement projects, and other hands-on assignments as needed.

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow Museum safety procedures.

Qualifications/Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Prior experience in building maintenance, handyman work, construction, property maintenance, carpentry, painting, or a related hands-on field preferred.

  • Working knowledge of basic painting, spackling, light carpentry, hardware repair, and general building maintenance.

  • Comfortable using common hand tools and basic power tools.

  • Ability to work independently while also taking direction and working as part of the Facilities & Maintenance team.

  • Dependable, punctual, organized, and able to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.

  • Good judgment and attention to safety, especially when working around Museum visitors, exhibits, and equipment.

  • Willingness to learn and assist with a wide variety of tasks. No two days at the Museum are exactly the same.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be comfortable working from ladders and approved personnel lifts and following all required safety procedures and training.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and work with hands for extended periods.

  • Work is performed throughout a large museum facility and may include indoor and outdoor areas, storage spaces, exhibit galleries, and maintenance areas.

  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required based on Museum events, projects, or facility needs.

Schedule:
