Position Summary:

The Cradle of Aviation Museum seeks an organized, creative, and detail-oriented Marketing & Digital Coordinator to support the daily operations of the Marketing and Communications department.

This position is designed to strengthen the department’s executional capacity following recent organizational changes, allowing senior leadership to focus on high-level strategy, partnerships, and revenue-generating initiatives. The Coordinator will play a key role in implementing marketing campaigns, managing digital platforms, and producing creative assets that promote the Museum’s programs, exhibits, and events.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications and cross-functional teams, this role ensures consistent, high-quality communications across all channels while maintaining the Museum’s brand standards and public presence.

Essential Functions:

Marketing Execution & Content Support

  • Assist in the implementation of marketing and communications plans across digital and traditional channels.

  • Create and schedule social media content to ensure consistency with the Museum’s voice and brand.

  • Draft and format email campaigns, event promotions, and basic press materials.

  • Maintain a content calendar to support exhibitions, programs, and institutional initiatives.

Graphic Design & Creative Production

  • Design marketing collateral, including digital graphics, flyers, signage, and promotional materials.

  • Support exhibit and program marketing needs by developing creative assets.

  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual and written communications.

Website & Digital Management

  • Maintain and update the Museum’s website, including events, exhibits, and program pages.

  • Monitor website functionality and user experience, making updates as needed.

  • Assist in basic SEO and analytics tracking to improve online visibility and engagement.

Departmental & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative and project support to the Marketing and Communications department.

  • Coordinate with internal departments (education, events, development, retail) to gather content and support promotional efforts.

  • Assist with event marketing logistics and on-site support when needed.

  • Support interns, volunteers, or part-time contributors as assigned.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Track performance of social media, email campaigns, and website activity.

  • Prepare basic reports to inform marketing decisions and improvements.

Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related field preferred.

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience (internships included), preferably in a nonprofit, museum, or cultural institution.

  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar).

  • Experience managing social media platforms and website content (CMS experience preferred).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Collaborative, proactive, and adaptable work style.

Language Skills:

  • English required; additional languages a plus

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Normal office environment; occasional evenings and weekends required for events or programs.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer use.

  • Ability to assist with event setup and light lifting as needed
