Position Title: Audio Visual Technician
Department: Theater
Reports to: Theater Manager
Salary: hourly pay
Full Time/Part Time: part-time or per diem

Position Summary:

The Museum seeks a part-time Audio-Visual Technician to set up, install, operate, test, and troubleshoot audio and video equipment for Museum events as needed.

Essential Functions:

• ·Set up and run special AV events including live music, movie screenings, press conferences, live streaming, exhibit AV, graduations, lectures, and other speaker events
• Set up interfaces (PC connections, audio connections, routing of selected signals to displays), sound mixers
• Set up equipment in conference rooms, classrooms, and unique locations (exhibits) including projectors, speakers, mixers, laptops and monitors
• Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with end users
• Participate in special projects and duties as assigned

Qualifications/Education:

• A minimum of two years of experience working in an AV environment
• Flexible availability- work required during evenings and weekends
• General understanding of media type formats and their compatibility
• Knowledge of Zoom, Teams, Webex, and/or other web conferencing tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service dealing with staff, patrons, and vendors
• Able to be creative in problem solving
• Able to lift a minimum of 100lbs and palletize heavy equipment (PC’s, monitors, AV equipment)
