An Evening With Astronaut Bill Shepherd
Former NASA Astronaut Bill Shepherd (Capt USN ret.) will present a talk about connections between Apollo Moon missions conducted 5 decades ago, and today’s International Space Station Program. Capt. Shepherd spent his early years on Long Island, and had a 30 year career as a Navy SEAL and Astronaut in NASA’s spaceflight programs. Capt. Shepherd flew 3 flights on Space Shuttle vehicles, and then commanded the “First Expedition” to the new International Space Station. Capt Shepherd will show video highlights of NASA’s and 15 partner nations’ efforts to build, launch, and operate the very large space research complex now in orbit.
