Are you ready for take-off?!
Come to the museum and construct a balsa wood model airplane!
FREE with museum admission, participants will form teams of three and together build their model airplane. A construction and aeronautics workshop, under the guidance of museum docents and members of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, will work with participants to get their plane ready for the Competition!
Once construction is complete, our Flying Model Competition will commence! The competition consists of four different flying tasks requiring team effort and expertise in flying agility and landing.
The Flying Model Competition is opened to students in grades 3, 4, and 5.
Due to limited space, pre-registration is required.
The last day to register for the Flying Model Competition is Saturday, January 10, 2015.
