As part of Long Island Manufacturing Month, the Cradle of Aviation Museum welcomed more than 250 high school students from 13 school districts across Nassau and Suffolk counties on October 26, 2026, for a day focused on manufacturing, technology, and career opportunities.
Students met local manufacturers, engineers, educators, and industry professionals; saw manufacturing technology up close; explored products made on Long Island; and learned about career opportunities in the industry.
One of the day's highlights was a panel discussion featuring young manufacturing professionals who shared how they got started, why they chose manufacturing careers, and the opportunities available on Long Island.
The event brought together education and industry to introduce students to the wide range of manufacturing and workforce opportunities available across Long Island.
The Museum thanks Tom Mariner and all participating schools, manufacturers, colleges, and organizations for helping make the event possible. We also thank News 12 Long Island for covering the event.
