Full Time/Part Time: Part-time 25 hrs per week (Friday – Sunday 9:30-5:30pm and events as needed)

Position Summary:
The Cradle of Aviation Museum Store seeks a highly driven, enthusiastic, and reliable Lead Store Associate to join our growing Retail department. The Lead Associate will primarily be responsible for the weekend operations of the Museum Store as directed by the Store Manager. This role will be responsible for opening and closing, overseeing all registers, providing exceptional customer service, upselling and demoing product, assisting with inventory work, supervising staff and/or volunteers, daily cleaning of store displays, and restocking. Must be trustworthy, have a positive attitude, team-focused and a good independent worker, punctual, and ready to have fun in a museum retail environment!

Essential Functions:

• Open and close the store daily, responsible for all security measures including managing the safe, securing all inventory, and locking up each night.
• Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming guests as they enter and asking if they enjoyed their visit to the museum, assisting with any questions.
• Consistent organizing and light cleaning regularly throughout the day
• Restocking the floor and shelves regularly, making note of any out of stock items
• Knowledge of products and vendors, and how they relate to the museum, knowledge of monthly and yearly sales goals
• Oversee and train store staff, and delegate tasks as needed
• Monitor and fulfill any online orders that come in over the weekend
• Perform product demos, explain product features and highlight museum events and artifacts to customers
• Assist store manager with developing content for marketing and promotional campaigns
• Assist with biannual inventories and routine spot checking with physical counts
• Ensure that all employees adhere to museum and store procedures and safety standards

Qualifications/Education:

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of two years Retail experience with proven track record for meeting sales goals
• Consistent customer- and team-focused attitude
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; friendly and enthusiastic
• Basic computer proficiency including word, excel, and outlook
• Familiarity with point of sale systems, must become proficient in Altru for sales, inventory, opening and closing procedures
• Maintain a well-groomed and professional demeanor
• Able to stand for extended periods of time and lift objects up to 25 pounds
• Adaptable; able to multitask in a fast-paced environment and troubleshoot store equipment when needed
• Weekends a must/ some holidays and evenings may be required for special events and museum happenings as needed

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
The work environment for this position is in a typical store setting with periods of standing, walking, cashiering and administrative work sitting at a computer. This position requires climbing ladders for merchandising, and lifting of boxes (average 30lbs) for inventory and shipping etc.
