 -4 pm\, Atrium\nThe Amateur Observer’s Society (AOS) will be here to help 
 us celebrate with solar telescopes\, conduct star lab programs\, hands-on 
 demos\, a radio telescope and a make and take family activity.  Free with 
 museum admission. Special Space Lab Presentation: Celestial Navigation - b
 efore we all had cellphones in our pockets getting around was a lot harder
 ! Join us in the giant dome to see how the stars can be used to find your 
 way over oceans\, through the sky\, and even across the stars. - 12 pm\, s
 eparate admission required.\n\n<b>90th Anniversary of Charles Lindbergh’s 
 Transatlantic Flight Celebration</b> - April 9-18\, Activity 12-4 pm\, Atr
 ium\nCharles Lindbergh made history right here on Long Island when he was 
 the first person to fly solo and non-stop across the Atlantic Ocean. Takin
 g off from Roosevelt Field\, fighting fog\, icing\, and sleep deprivation\
 , Lindbergh landed safely at Le Bourget Field in Paris at 10:22pm on May 2
 0\, 1927. A new aviation hero was born\, and the 'Spirit of St. Louis” tha
 t carried him over 3\,600 miles in 33.5 hours\, attained legendary status.
  Come and explore our Golden Age gallery\, where you can see an original s
 ister ship of The Spirit of Saint Louis and learn all about the pilot and 
 his monumental journey! \nActivity: Make a Lindbergh Periscope - Because t
 he fuel tanks were located ahead of the cockpit for safety in case of an a
 ccident\, Lindbergh could not see directly ahead\, except by using a peris
 cope! Join us at our craft table from 12-4 pm and make your own periscope 
 to take home.\n\n<b>Hands-On Science Zone</b> - April 11-13\, Activities 1
 1am-4pm\, 3rd for Atrium\nThree great hands-on activities! Rising Sea: See
  how the land can change as waters rise. Ice Orbs: See how astronauts migh
 t look for signs of life hidden on a frozen planet. Imagining Life: Imagin
 e a faraway planet and the alien life you think inhabits it.\n\n<b>The Cur
 rent Night Sky - Live Astronomy Programs</b> - April 8-18\, 12 pm\nLong be
 fore television\, GPS and street lights\, there were the stars of the nigh
 t sky. Visitors will travel through the seasonal night sky to learn about 
 constellations\, hear mythical stories and observe the magnificent Long Is
 land sky. Each of our Space Labs is led by an Educator and Pilot who will 
 guide you through the universe and show you the points of interest!\n\n
