Spring into Space for the School Break

Saturday, March 27 through Sunday, April 4, 2021

Hello….is anybody out there?

Spring into Space for the School Break at the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

As the Mars Rover Perseverance begins its search for signs of ancient microbial life on Mars, we’re exploring the question, “What’s out there?” during the school vacation break – Saturday, March 27th through Sunday, April 4th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm each day.

Join us to explore the idea of potential life beyond the Earth and all things space!

Current Night Sky Planetarium Show. See the premiere of our spring Current Night Sky planetarium show featuring the constellations, planets, the new Mars Rover - Perseverance, and interesting facts about the spring sky on Long Island. Separate admission required and limited entry so purchase tickets in advance via our website to reserve your spot.

Design an Alien life form! Take part in a self-guided family activity daily from 12-4 pm. We will give you the idea for an alien world and environment, and then you can design your own alien! Once you are all set, share with all our visitors by placing it on exhibit in our Atrium. Free with Museum Admission.

Astronomy Event Scavenger Hunt. Learn about upcoming Astronomy events in 2021 through a series of infographics spread around the Museum. This way you will never miss something amazing in the sky. Guaranteed to be out of this world! Free with Museum Admission.

"We are incredibly excited to share our enthusiasm for all things space with our Long Island neighbors! You can come to see our new Spring Sky planetarium show and then go out that very night and see what we were talking about. The only thing we love more than learning about space is talking to our neighbors about it," said Tom Barry, Assistant Director of Education.

The Museum is located on Museum Row, Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Garden City. Directions: Take the Meadowbrook Parkway to exit M4 West, and then follow signs to Museum Row.
