The mission of the Cradle of Aviation Museum is twofold: to engage all ages in the exploration of our aerospace heritage by preserving and displaying Long Island’s contribution to air and space travel; and to inspire, motivate, and stimulate our youth to be the next generation of aerospace scientists and engineers. We achieve our mission through our growing exhibit collection and our ever expanding educational programs.

KidWind Professional Development

A comprehensive professional development day for teachers who are interested in having their middle or high school level students participate in the KidWind Challenge. The day will include instruction on building a wind turbine, along with curriculum materials on renewable energy and why students should be thinking of alternative energy sources. Pre Registration is required.
