The mission of the Cradle of Aviation Museum is twofold: to engage all ages in the exploration of our aerospace heritage by preserving and displaying Long Island’s contribution to air and space travel; and to inspire, motivate, and stimulate our youth to be the next generation of aerospace scientists and engineers. We achieve our mission through our growing exhibit collection and our ever expanding educational programs.
Sustainable Transportation: Eco-Engineers Competition
For Middle School students.
“Oh the places you’ll go!” People of the world need to travel, from towns to states and even different countries! Traffic and congestion have become more frustrating and dangerous to our environment. Many experts believe the best way to solve this problem is to design new transportation systems that use renewable energy sources like Solar and Magnetic Levitation. Using math, science, and technology principles to optimize the design of their vehicles, students will design and build their vehicles and then come to the museum to compete for awards.
Pre-registration is required before June 4th 2019.
Free with museum admission.
