The mission of the Cradle of Aviation Museum is twofold: to engage all ages in the exploration of our aerospace heritage by preserving and displaying Long Island’s contribution to air and space travel; and to inspire, motivate, and stimulate our youth to be the next generation of aerospace scientists and engineers. We achieve our mission through our growing exhibit collection and our ever expanding educational programs.
KidWind Competition
For Middle School & High School Students,
Our Earth needs us! The overuse of fossil fuels has put our planet in an environmental crisis. Students today need to learn about renewable energies and their benefits to our environment. The KidWind Challenge encourages students to learn about wind energy, how it works, and how it can be used to help to make the world less dependent on fossil fuels for the production of electricity. Students will work in teams to build efficient working wind turbines and bring them to the museum to compete for awards.
Pre-registration is required before October 17th 2018.
Free with museum admission.
