The mission of the Cradle of Aviation Museum is twofold: to engage all ages in the exploration of our aerospace heritage by preserving and displaying Long Island’s contribution to air and space travel; and to inspire, motivate, and stimulate our youth to be the next generation of aerospace scientists and engineers. We achieve our mission through our growing exhibit collection and our ever expanding educational programs.
Project ASTRO PD
Recommended for teachers of students in grades K-2
Astronomy is full of abstract concepts that can be difficult to translate into lessons for budding astronomers. Join us at the Cradle of Aviation for sessions led by museum educators and local amateur astronomers, focusing on bringing hands-on astronomy into the classroom. Teachers will leave with tangible lessons to use, as well as, the skills to locate and adapt astronomy lessons from other sources.
PDs are $20 and include 1 CTLE credit per hour
