KAVLI FULLDOME LECTURE SERIES

OUR PLANETARY EXPERIMENT

presented by

DR. DANIEL P. SCHRAG
PROFESSOR OF GEOLOGY, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING, HARVARD UNIVERSITY
DIRECTOR, HARVARD UNIVERSITY CENTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

The increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide due to burning coal, oil and gas represents an unprecedented experiment on the planet Earth. Dr. Schrag will discuss how the history of Earth and its neighboring planets provide hints of how that experiment might unfold.

The Kavli Fulldome Lecture Series is presented live from the Adler Planetarium in Chicago. The Cradle of Aviation along with other planetariums will simulcast the lecture from the Adler at the same time; making this an event for friends and family close together or far apart. During this event the Adler Planetarium will take over control of the Jet Blue Sky Theater Planetarium, driving the audience through the universe from miles away! Come and be a part of a nationwide audience!

Visuals will be broadcast in the Planetarium but this event will also be presented using YouTube 360. Google Cardboards will be provided to those who bring their mobile device, for a virtual reality experience.
