The mission of the Cradle of Aviation Museum is twofold: to engage all ages in the exploration of our aerospace heritage by preserving and displaying Long Island’s contribution to air and space travel; and to inspire, motivate, and stimulate our youth to be the next generation of aerospace scientists and engineers. We achieve our mission through our growing exhibit collection and our ever expanding educational programs.
Egg Drop Competition
For Elementary & Middle School students.
"One small step for man.." To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11, this year students in grades K-8th will have the chance to become space engineers. Students will create a device to protect their Egg Astronaut at school and bring it into the museum. The "egg-cited" engineers will then launch their “astronauts” off the balcony and hope their device protects them from splatting on the museum floor! The day will include the egg drop celebration. Enhance your day by adding on a Dome Theater show, space class, lunch and museum time!
Reservations are required before February 25th, 2019
Free with museum admission.
