Dear Scouts and Scout leaders,

Achieve more through one of the Cradle of Aviation Museum’s Scout Programs!  We offer an exciting opportunity for Scout groups to use the museum’s vast resources and earn a variety of scouting accomplishments such as Badges, Try-Its and Belt Loops.

In addition to these programs, the museum has so much more to offer scouts.  Sign up for a team building exercise in our Space Shuttle cockpit, take part in one of our competitions being held throughout the year, or schedule one of our other guided programs.

Scout Sleepovers at the Cradle of Aviation Museum include:

Girl Scouts Brownie Try-Its
1 1/2 hour programs - $10 for Scouts $5.50 for adults.
Includes museum admission & materials.
Minimum of 8 scouts required.

Movers-- Make a pinwheel, a spinning copter, or even launch a ring glider and more when you learn why things move through the air.

Space Explorer-- Create a star maker, construct a sundial with a shadow and view the night sky in our starlab!

Girl Scouts Junior Badges
2 1/2 hour programs - $12 for scouts, $10 for adults.
Includes museum admission & materials.
Minimum of 8 scouts required.

Aerospace-- Fly a kite, make a paper airplane and shuttle glider or try on a space suit. Explore and discover how amazing aerospace is!

Sky Search-- Discover constellations meteors and more when you sign up for this badge!

Cadette and Senior Girls Scouts
2 1/2 hour programs - $12 for scouts, $10 for adults.

The Museum is dedicated in providing the proper tools you may need to fulfill your Service Projects and help you discover the technology, career and skill requirements for each of these badges:

Space Exploration -- Join in this exciting quest to understand the awe and wonder of the Universe.

Museum Discovery -- Learn all about Museums and how they preserve the past, examine the present and offer glimpses into the future.

Women Through Time -- Take a look back in history to discover the power and presence of women in all walks of life.

Cub Scout Belt Loops
1 1/2 hour programs - $12 for scouts, $10 for adults.
Museum admission & materials included.
Minimum of 8 scouts required.

Belt Loop Programs available:

Astronomy-- Sketch our solar system and the relative distances between planets. Use a telescope and learn about the many different objects in our universe

Science-- Work as scientists to make predictions about how different toys will work in space then talk to one of the museum's docents about how they used science in the field of aerospace.

1 1/2 hour programs - $12 for scouts, $10 for adults.
(Appropriate Belt Loop required)
Museum admission & materials included.
Minimum of 8 scouts required.

Academic Pin Programs available:

Astronomy -- Spend some time in our Starlab finding the North Star and learning about constellations.   Then visit our Space Gallery and Lunar Module to learn more about human spaceflight

Science -- Build, experiment and draw all in the name of science!   This pin offers scouts a chance to experience subjects such as physics, engineering, astronomy and chemistry.  

Special Combination Price
Combine a Belt Loop and Academic Pin program for the reduced price of $18 for scouts, $15 for adults.

Boy Scouts Aviation Merit Badge
2 1/2hour program - $12 for scouts, $10 for adults.
Museum admission included & materials.
Minimum of 8 scouts required.

We have designed a fun, informative program that meets all of the requirements for an Aviation Merit Badge.  

Program Highlights Include:

  • Discover how pilots control airplanes
  • Build your own glider
  • Take a guided tour through the museum
  • Learn to read the cockpit instruments
  • Perform a preflight inspection of a plane
