A Crack in the Glass: How Early Woman Aviators broke through the glass ceiling and into Aviation History.

Recommended for Educators who teach grades 3rd-8th

Explore the lives of woman aviators who pushed past gender boundaries and aimed for the clouds. Incorporating group work, research and oral presentations, Cradle of Aviation educators will lead teachers through the history of some of the most famous woman aviators including Harriet Quimby, Amelia Earhart, Bessie Coleman and the Mercury 13 Astronauts. Hands on activities include recording longitude and latitude for a trip around the world, plotting and recognizing landmasses and oceans on a map, and working in a microgravity environment. All lessons comply with the State and National Standards.
