THE DREAM IS ALIVE with Astronaut Terry Hart

Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 7:30pm
Admission: $10.00 ($8.00 for museum members)

Terry Hart put his engineering career at Bell Laboratories on hold for four years to be an Air Force fighter pilot and for six years to be a NASA astronaut. Hart was part of the first group of shuttle astronauts, officially known as Group Eight, chosen in January, 1978. He flew on the space shuttle Challenger on the STS-41C mission from April 6 to April 13, 1984. Terry used the shuttle’s mechanical arm to help his crew recover and repair the Solar Maximum Satellite. His crew was the first to fly the IMAX camera and he filmed footage for the film The Dream is Alive narrated by Walter Cronkite. Join Terry Hart as he tells how, “Space Exploration is an adventure we all can share in.”

Seating is limited. For tickets, information and reservations, please call 516-572-4066.
