iConnect Challenge - Teacher Workshop

Wednesday, November 13, 2013 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Description: Students are connected all the time, from laptops to tablets, to iPhones and iPods, technology is everywhere! Explore the use of apps and mobile devices to enhance STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)!

But what is an “app”?! An app is a new, virtual media tool available for download onto Smart Phones, iPods, iPads, and tablets. Apps come in all kinds of categories…including education!

Come learn how to get your ninth through twelfth graders excited about how to use their knowledge of mobile devices to study, write reports, or explore their favorite subjects!

In the iConnect Challenge students, grades nine through twelve, are asked to research educational apps. Then, using one of these “STEM-driven” apps, students will form teams of five to produce their own commercial! This public service announcement video will aim to encourage the use of apps and mobile devices into their classroom.

The iConnect Challenge will be held on Monday, February 10, 2014, 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Teachers, please register your teams by January 15, 2014, by contacting our Education Coordinator, Catherine Bingham.
