Take your class on a trip they'll never forget...
The Arcade Age explores the short history of video arcade games through exhibits and game play, just as they were intended to be experienced - in an arcade! Through Labor Day, 2016, the Cradle of Aviation has transformed a section of its galleries into an arcade complete with unforgettable favorites like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Donkey Kong and over 50 others.
Students can play the arcade classics and see exhibits that tell the story of video arcade games; from the pioneers in the early 40s and 50s, to the golden age in the late 70s and early 80s, to the industry crash, revival and ultimate decline in the 90s.
It is a story of the creative and innovative people who explored groundbreaking technologies, the games that sprung from their ingenuity and a culture that was shaped by their developments.
Come join us for an exciting interactive exhibit that remembers and reflects on the evolution of video games and the arcades they lived in.

This year the Cradle has a lot of new and exciting opportunities for you and your students! We have two new museum classes! The first entitled Tech…Under Construction is designed to have students explore the components of technology from hydraulics to circuits through fun, engaging experiments. We also have a new early learners program! Lunar Explorers seeks to introduce students to the features of the Moon while learning about shapes, colors, and numbers.
When you come for a visit, we are proud to welcome teachers and students alike to experience our dome! New interactive educator-led programs will treat your students to realistic close-up views of Earth, star fields and planets, taking them on an exhilarating flight through a virtual re-creation of our universe. Choose from our museum classes to extend the learning beyond the dome!
