Aerospace Camp 2008 Four week long camps where kids can Explore, Experiment, Create and Just Have Fun. In these 5-day mini-camps, children will explore aviation and space through hands on activities, art projects, aerospace experiments IMAX and gallery visits. Led by an experienced museum educator, campers will discover the past and learn about future. Kids can sign up for half day, morning or afternoon or full day sessions for up to four weeks. Space Exploration Week: July 7th - 11th Mornings: Many Worlds Away. See the stars as others have seen them, from ancient astronomers to the Hubble telescope and beyond. Make your own telescope and spend some time in the Cradle's own Star lab. Afternoons: Walk Among the Stars. The Earth is not alone in the universe. Build a comet and learn more about the things whizzing around our galaxy and universe. Blast Off - Rocket Week: July 14th - 18th Mornings: Extreme Altitude. Who says rocket science is complicated? Blast off in our working Space Shuttle cockpit, launch all kinds of rockets and learn why rockets aren't just for scientists. Afternoons: Fly Me to the Moon. The Moon is so close you can almost smell the Cheese. Hear about the crazy ways people thought we could reach the moon and then take your own small steps by building a rocket and taking a virtual ride into space. Flying Made Easy Week: July 21st - 25th Mornings: Let's Fly Away. Airplanes are pulled in different directions by gravity, lift, thrust and drag, all of which we will fascinatingly recreate with fun experiments and projects. Build parachutes and take a flight on our flight simulator game. Afternoons: Flying Machines. Airplanes aren't the only things that can fly. Learn about other ways to soar and then build some of your own flying machines. Aviator-In-Training Week: July 28th - August 1st Mornings: Hot Shots. Pilots have one of the most exciting jobs on earth and it's never too early to think about becoming one. Check your reaction time, learn more about how to control a plane, and then put your skills to the test on one of our flight simulator games and G-force ride. Afternoons: Fabulous Flyers.
